Boogie fever

Time to boogie, in more ways than one.

First we had to boogie out of our hotel-home after 6 nights. How did everything grow so much in a week. We didn't buy much of anything but somehow all of our stuff no longer is fitting back into the car. Well, we didn't have to go far, just to Granny Ann's house so we had things everywhere.

Just temporarily because then we had stuff all over Granny Ann's house. The girls managed to cover an entire living room with all their stuff. First stop after unloading was the big bead store. Give tweens a few bucks and you are at a bead store for quite some time. Fortunately we had a date so we managed to boogie on after just over an hour.

Mom's friend from high school drove down from Temecula with her daughter & friend and we headed to the beach. Given it was a Saturday with great weather we went to Coronado where we had the best chance for parking at a nice beach. Problem was we had 2 cars and only got one great spot. Kelly hiked back from her spot and we had a lovely SoCal day watching the sites. The tweens spent hours boogie boarding as we assured them that this beach had no sting rays.

After a long day at the beach and a big dinner at the favorite Italian spot, Fillipi's, the girls were asleep very quickly. Good thing they slept well as they needed all their energy to pack up all over again. This time we managed to get back to packing like the original setup.

We only had a short drive (<2 hours) before getting to Long Beach. We are staying at friend's place on the beach! But first there was George. George rules. George is a chihuahua. At first he wasn't sure about us and had the girls backed up against a wall. That was for a few minutes. Then he was on his back getting love and attention from the teens. We took George to the dog section of the beach where there was quite a collection and volume of dogs. George was only sorta ok with that, I think he likes 100% attention.

We had plans of kayaking, dolphin tours and bicylcing but got side-tracked with the beach shops and walking. Lots of sights to be seen on the street and the beach. But we had to get back to make sure George got some more pets. Felt a bit guilty going out to dinner without the big guy. All is good now...George is letting us sit on the sofa to watch a little tv before bed.
